How do we raise children who care deeply for the Earth?
Not through lectures or guilt. Not by telling children what they should do. We inspire stewardship by helping children fall in love with the natural world, one joyful experience at a time.
For more than three decades, environmental educator, author, and Camp Kawartha Executive Director Jacob Rodenburg has been helping children, educators, and communities build meaningful relationships with nature. His work has received national and international recognition, including the United Nations University’s Outstanding Flagship Project Award for the Pathway to Stewardship and Kinship – a developmental framework that guides children from their very first encounters with nature through to meaningful environmental action.
In this highly interactive workshop, Jacob shares practical, field -tested activities that early childhood educators can begin using immediately. More than simply providing outdoor games, this session explores how to cultivate curiosity, wonder, empathy, creativity, and a lasting sense of belonging within the living world.

Whether you are just beginning your outdoor learning journey or looking to deepen an existing practice, you’ll leave with renewed confidence, fresh inspiration, and a toolbox of engaging activities that help children develop not only a love of nature, but the confidence and desire to care for it.
Registration Deadline for this event is September 3 at 4:00 pm. This event is limited to 30 participants. All attendees to the two part series will receive a copy of Jacob’s book.
