Let’s Talk and Let’s Connect- Exploring the Development of Language

Wednesday, August 13 6:30pm-8:30pm – Virtual Only

We are excited to welcome Ashley LaPlante from Five Counties Children’s Centre, who will be offering an informative and valuable learning opportunity focused on supporting children in early learning centres and programs. The session will explore the development of communication in young children and highlight common challenges that may arise.

The Let’s Talk program supports children aged 1–3 years with expressive language delays and focuses on understanding typical speech and language development. In addition, the Let’s Connect program provides strategies to support children aged 1–6 years who experience Social Communication Differences—which may include difficulty interpreting others’ words and gestures, using greetings, playing with peers, or engaging in conversation.

This session will primarily focus on the Let’s Talk program, offering insights into typical speech development. It will also include key information from the Let’s Connect program to help identify social communication challenges and share practical strategies and resources to support your daily interactions and engagement with children in your program.

Please register by 4:00 pm on Monday, August 11 at the link below and a virtual link will be sent to you.
