Resources to Support Educator’s Wellness

Jaimie, a Trent University Nursing Student, completed their placement with ELQI this fall.

“Did you know that burnout was officially recognized by the World Health Organization as an occupational phenomenon in 2019?” -page 5 of Helath & Wellness Resources Project

To complete a project to support educator wellness, Jaimie took the time to learn about our profession and our local community. When looking at stress and burnout in other professions, Jaimie was able to make connections to previous learning and experiences and see the similarities to the ECE profession.

To complete the project, Jaimie shared a questionnaire with educators in our community where we received 34 responses. The responses were incorporated into the PowerPoint and resource document. One of the questions asked was: “What advice would you give to others in the early childhood education profession who are dealing with burnout or stress”; many of the responses received were shared in both the PowerPoint and resources document!

Thank you Jaimie for putting together this great resource for educators in our community to access and use to support their wellness!
Thank you to all of the educators who submitted their responses to the questionnaire; the responses were valuable to see what needed to be included in this project.
Thank you to the educators who attended the presentation and provided feedback on the PowerPoint and what else would be beneficial to include to support the educator’s overall wellness.
