Make Your Opinion Count: Understanding Job Satisfaction Among Child Care Educators Throughout Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton
The City of Kawartha Lakes Children’s Service department in partnership with Trent University Interdisciplinary Social Research PhD candidate Sonya Hill, are conducting a research study on job satisfaction of child care educators in the City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton.
This research aims to gain a deeper understanding of how satisfied child care educators are within the current child care contexts and identify actionable changes that can be implemented at both organizational and municipal levels to improve retention and recruitment of child care educators. The results of this study will assist the City of Kawartha Lakes Children’s Services department in developing solutions and strategies aimed at building and strengthening the local child care and early years workforce.
There are many titles for those working in early learning and child care. The City of Kawartha Lakes Children’s Service department recognizes the impact all these workers have on the health and development of children. Therefore, “educator(s)” encompasses RECE, child care workers, assistants, program facilitators, and support staff.
Participation is open to any Registered Early Childhood Educators, non-registered early childhood educators, including child care supervisors employed in licensed child care center located in the City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton, resource support staff (including pedagogical leads and special needs resource consultants) who support licenced child care programs and educators working in EarlyON programs in the City of Kawartha Lakes and County of Haliburton,
Please note: Any identifying information collected will be anonymized, and not shared with any organization, child care program, or the City of Kawartha Lakes Children’s Service department.
