The Early Learning Quality Initiative (ELQI) and Early Learning Resource Program (ELRP) are both a part of Community Living Trent Highlands (CLTH). We have an internal committee called “Positive Vibes” and they often plan a variety of activities and things to have fun together, notice great things happening and focus on wellness. The most recent activity is Camp Week that has started this week (August 14); it is a week long event with many great things planned. They assigned each department a camp mascot and the Early Learning programs mascot is the Oryx.
If you walk into any of our locations, you may notice doors, bulletin boards and spaces within the office decorated in a way to showcase the different program mascots. Kinga was able to have the help from educators and children at the Bobcaygeon School Age program to create something for us to use as a display for our Oryx mascot. If you know Kinga, you also know she has a passion to document the work she notices taking place in addition to the work she engages in; this experience was no exception!
Read the documentation below and have a look at our display at the office. If you have an interesting fact about Oryx, we would love if you shared it in the comments.
Special thank you to the educators and children at the Bobcaygeon Daycare who helped our Oryx mascot come to be!
