Pedagogical Companions – taking time to notice

Our team of Early Learning Coordinators and members from our local early learning and childcare community have had the wonderful opportunity to work closely with Karyn Callaghan to establish a group of Pedagogical Companions.

Our work together is just that – working alongside one another. We are engaging and learning together with not only those who have also been participating in this on-going professional learning opportunity, but with other educators and staff that we work with on a regular basis as well.

Karyn has facilitated monthly discussions with us to look our commitment to construct knowledge together and to contribute to this group of co-learning together. We are continuing to dig deeper together to think differently and dig deeper in our conversations together. Throughout our monthly conversations, Karyn has invited us to notice a variety of things; in particular to pay attention to what we are noticing.

Kinga is one of our Early Learning Coordinators and took the time to share this documentation about something she noticed with an educator at one of the programs she was visiting. Thank you Kinga and Tammy for allowing us to share this documentation.

What have you been noticing recently? Is there a question you have, something you’ve noticed the children are interested in or an observation that has left you thinking more about it?

If you have documentation you would like to share on the blog, please send it to me in an email; I will share the documentation consent form that I would then need to have signed to be able to share it.
